SUMMARY
In practice we interfere with musculoskeletal disorders that are incurable, or their treatment is prolonged, invasive or less promising. For example, metabolic developmental diseases such as osteogenesis imperfecta; simple bone cyst; osteochondrosis of femoral head; meniscus damage or osteochondral and chondral defects, pseudoarthrosis and others.
Regenerative medicine is a new perspective medical specialty that offers innovative ways to treat musculoskeletal disorders. So far, there are few publications of clinical application of MSCs in children. However, if there is no conventional treatment for the disease, this new method could be likely indicated because the benefits outweigh the possible risks.
The main focus of this article is to review the most common clinical use of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in the treatment of children’s musculoskeletal system, new trends in their use in regenerative medicine and a summary of the characteristic features of stem cells.
