SUMMARY

Selection of suitable experimental design is the important component of single subject experiment. The aim of the paper is to define basic attributes of selected experimental designs used in single-subject research studies, namely ABAB reversal design, multiple baseline design, alternating treatment design, changing criterion design, with the emphasis on their advantages. As well as the limitations that must be taken into account in the selection and implementation of the experimental design in single-subject studies to demonstrate the experimental control by the researcher.
