Autorka pracovala dlhé roky ako asistentka na katedre fyziatrie, balneológie a liečebnej rehabilitácie (FBLR), teraz pracuje vo Všeobecnej zdravotnej poisťovni a má v referáte zdravotnícke pomôcky. Uvedená kombinácia jej odborných a pracovných záujmov jej dovolila napísať stručný článok o najčastejšie požadovaných zdravotníckych pomôckach pre potreby odboru fyziatria, balneológia a liečebná rehabilitácia. Konštatuje, že dôležitou súčasťou odboru FBLR je oblasť poskytovania rehabilitačných, kompenzačných a ortopedicko-protetických zdravotníckych pomôcok (ZP). Tieto majú nielen liečebný efekt, ale v mnohých prípadoch zároveo i uľahčujú život pacientovi, ako aj jeho rodinným príslušníkom. V prak tickom živote sa problematika zdravotníckych pomôcok prelína so sociálnou oblasťou. V princípe pri pomôckach platí, že sa neuhrádza z verejného zdravotného poistenia, možno uhradiť prostredníctvom odborov/oddelení sociálnych vecí príslušného miestneho úradu.

SUMMARY
Author worked for a long years as an assistant at the Department of physiotherapy, balneology and medical rehabilitation (PBMR) and at present she works in General Health Insurance Company and is responsible for medical devices. This combination of her professional and occupational interests allowed her to write a brief article concerning the most required medical devices for the need of the PBMR Department. She states that the important part of PBMR Department is also the area of provision of rehabilitation, compensating and orthopaedic-prosthetic devices and supports (further only MD). These MD's have not only therapeutic effect, but in many cases can also ease the life of the patients as well as his/her family. In the practical life the problems of MD's is often mingled with social area. Principally in the area of MD's can be said, that what is not paid from health insurance, can be paid via department of social affairs of respective council office.
