Abstract
Metabolic syndrome (MS) is an independent factor of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and albuminuria (AU), and the more components of MS are present, the more the progression of CKD is accelerated and the AU is accentuated. Individual components of MS such as arterial hypertension (AH), insulin resistance (IR), dyslipidemia, obesity, hyperuricemia play a significant role in the development and progression of CKD.
CKD is a structural or functional term of the patient for more than 3 months that affects the overall health of the patient. It is a general name for a disorder of structure and function for a variety of clinical manifestations. Functional damage is currently mainly secondary to other basic so-called diseases of civilization such as AH, diabetes mellitus (DM) and MS. In patients, it occurs asymptomatically, and therefore is often diagnosed only in advanced situations. The prevalence of CKD is reported to be approximately 13.4% (11.7 – 15.1%), which means that one in 9 10 adults have some degree of CKD, with most of them unaware of their disease for many years.
CKD is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular (CV) mortality and mortality, even reduced renal function is a strong CV risk factor, while the presence of AU increases CV morbidity and mortality in patients with CKD, as well as the small significant position of this parameter in the management of advanced CKD as also the screening of its timely situations.
Conclusion: Overnutrition with the development of obesity, as part of one of the interactive maladaptive factors of CV diseases and kidney diseases, which include insulin resistance (IR), hypertension and dyslipidemia and together form the cardiorenal metabolic syndrome (tab. 1, obr. 5, lit. 18).
