SUMMARY
Fractures of the zygomaticomaxillary complex are the most common fractures of the middle third of the face. This is due to the prominence of the os zygomaticum into space. They are also called tripod fractures due to the anatomical shape resembling a tripod. The aim of this work is a comprehensive look at the issue of zygomaticomaxillarx fractures and its treatment at the Department of Stomatology and Maxillofacial Surgery of Commenius University of Medicine and St. Elisabeth Hospital Bratislava. The theoretical part of the paper is devoted to clinical features, diagnosis and therapeutic procedures. Processing of statistical data in the practical part recorded directly in clinical conditions over a period of 35 years.
