Education structure and content in Public Health in Czech republic

Škola veoejného zdravotnictví Institutu postgraduálního vzdilávání ve zdravotnictví byla založena po vzoru zahranič ních "Schools of Public Health" v roce 1992. Vznikla jako moderní pracovišti, které vedle svých dalších aktivit realizuje závažnou společenskou objednávku -- systematické vzdilá vání oídících pracovníku ve zdravotnictví. Ve sdilení jsou uvedeny základní principy vzdilávacího programu v oboru veoejné zdravotnictví, praktický prubih a obsah studia. Škola veoejného zdravotnictví jako jediné akreditované výukové pracovišti v oboru veoejné zdravotnictví chce i nadále udržo vat agenturní fungování instituce, která dokáže adekvátni reagovat na minící se strukturu a požadavky posluchaču.

SUMMARY

The School of Public Health of Postgraduate Medical Institute was founded in 1992 following the international models of "Schools of Public Health". It started its activities as a modern workplace that, apart from its basic activities, provided systematic education of managers in health care aimed at current social demands. The paper submits the elementary principles of educational programmes in the field of public health, practical training and curricula of the study. The School of Public Health as the only accredited training workplace in the field of public health has ambitions to further function as agency-like institution that can adequately cover the ever changing needs concerning the structure and requirements of the students.Key words: public health - school of public health - postgraduate education - managerial education.
