SUMMARY
Objective: Studying the effectiveness of rehabilitating patients with jaw defects and deformities of various etiologies using distraction osteogenesis after autologous transplantation of a vascularized autograft.
Methods: Analysis of the treatment of 60 patients with this pathology. The patients were divided into two groups: the primary group (n = 30), where distraction osteogenesis was performed after autologous transplantation of a vascularized autograft, and the control group (n = 30), where treatment included only distraction osteogenesis. The efficacy of the regimens was evaluated according to patient quality of life (EORTC QLQC-30 questionnaire) and histological and morphological data taken four months after treatment.
Results: Combined treatment showed high effectiveness in light of pronounced regeneration (in the relative volume and density of bone tissue and the level of bone balance) and positive dynamics in patient quality of life.
Conclusions: The results obtained confirm the effectiveness of the described rehabilitation plan for preparing patients for further dental implantation.
Key words: distraction osteogenesis, jaw defects and deformities, rehabilitation, autologous transplantation, vascularized autograft.
