Abstract
New strategies for prevention and targeted therapy of patients after overcoming COVID-19 are being developed. It is believed that the most effective strategy to prevent COVID-19 disease is vaccination.
In our pilot studies we found protective effect of vaccination on platelet mitochondrial bioenergetics of patients with post-acute COVID-19, without prevention in the reduction of the endogenous biosynthesis/level of coenzyme Q10. Mountain spa rehabilitation without or with targeted supplementary therapy with ubiquinol (reduced coenzyme Q10) contributed to improving clinical symptoms, lungs function, platelet mitochondrial bioenergetics and health of patients with post-COVID-19 syndrome. More efficient regeneration of patients was achieved with simultaneous supportive therapy with ubiquinol. The results of our studies contribute to the clarification of the pathobiochemical mechanisms of vaccination against the impact of the SARS-CoV-2 virus on mitochondrial function, the importance of coenzyme Q10 in patients after overcoming COVID-19, and their application in the prevention and therapy of the disease of COVID-19. Mountain spa rehabilitation with targeted coenzyme Q10 therapy can be recommended for patients with post-COVID-19 syndrome (Fig. 3, Ref. 32). Text v PDF www.lekarskyobzor.sk.
