Súhrn
Myxedém je podľa literárnych údajov príčinou ascitu menej ako v 1 % prípadov, samotná hypotyreóza sa manifestuje rozvojom ascitu menej ako v 4 % prípadov. Autori prezentujú kazuistiku pacienta s niekoľko rokov dokumentovanou cirhózou pečene, etiologicky dávanou do súvislosti s nadužívaním alkoholu; bola uňho v rámci diferenciálnej diagnostiky zistená závažná, dovtedy nepoznaná primárna hypotyreóza.

Ascites modified by hypothyreosis in patient with cryptogenic liver cirrhosis
Abstract
According to the literature ascites is caused by myxedema in less than 1% of cases; in hypothyroidism alone the ascites is presented in less than 4% of cases. The authors present the case report of the patient who has had a liver cirrhosis secondary to alcohol abuse for a several years. As a part of a differential diagnosis work-up the primary hypothyroidism was discovered which was unknown prior that.
