Abstract
The rise of antibiotic resistance around the world is a very current problem. The combination of increasing resistance to various bacteria and the absence of new types of antibiotics have led to the search for alternative methods of antibiotic treatment. One such method is the administration of antibiotics in the form of aerosols. The paper demonstrates the advantages and disadvantages of inhaled antibiotics compared to their systemic use in infants with ventilator-associated pneumonia on artificial lung ventilation (Tab. 3, Ref. 10).
