SUMMARY
The COVID-19 pandemic affects many areas of life, not excluding science and research. Closure of educational institutions and laboratories influenced the progression of science. On the one hand, there has been a decline in scientific research, the development of the scientific community at the level of various congresses and symposia, as well as the educational process itself. On the other hand, the COVID-19 pandemic sets out how science and research can contribute at the current level to combat the disease that caused the death millions of people. This collaboration has led to rapid progress in understanding the biological structure of the pathogen, as well as the possibilities for therapy and the development of vaccine, which is a promise of a return to normal life as we knew before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Key words: COVID-19, coronavirus, scientific research, education, therapy, vaccine.
