Abstract
Obesity is a risk factor for cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, type 2 diabetes, and cancer. Excessive daily intake of calories, sedentary lifestyle, and lack of exercise are among the main factors in the emergence and development of obesity not only in the adult population but also in children. Obesity negatively affects the health of the mitochondria of individual organs, which reflects the health of the body.

Regeneration of the damaged dynamics and bioenergetics of mitochondria due to obesity belongs to the current direction of population health protection. In addition to the impact of fasting and various diets on the health of mitochondria and the longevity of the population, it is important to reduce excessive daily calorie intake while ensuring a sufficient amount of vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals, as well as increasing physical movement (Tab. 1, Ref. 30).
